Answers to Common Queries

How to Use

Dosage: Take as prescribed by your physician.
Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Timing: For maximum effectiveness, take PANTAGUT-DM on an empty stomach, ideally 30 to 60 minutes before your first meal of the day (breakfast).

How it Works

Pantoprazole: A Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that stops the "pumps" in the stomach lining from producing excess acid.
Domperidone: A dopamine antagonist that increases the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract. It strengthens the valve between the esophagus and stomach and speeds up gastric emptying, preventing food/acid from flowing back up.

Safety Advice

Heart Health: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart rhythm problems or heart failure.
Liver & Kidney: Patients with significant liver or kidney impairment should seek medical advice for dose adjustments.
Pregnancy/Nursing: Consult your healthcare provider; use only if the benefit outweighs any potential risk.
Alcohol: Avoid alcohol as it can increase acid production and worsen symptoms.

What if You Forget?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Why is PANTAGUT-DM better than plain Pantoprazole?

Plain Pantoprazole only reduces acid. PANTAGUT-DM adds Domperidone, which is essential if you also feel nauseous, bloated, or feel like food is "stuck" in your chest.

Can I take this tablet with an antacid syrup?

Yes, but keep a gap of at least 2 hours. Antacid syrups provide immediate, short-term neutralization, while PANTAGUT-DM provides 24-hour acid control.

How long should I take PANTAGUT-DM?

It is usually prescribed for 2–4 weeks. Your doctor will decide the duration based on your symptoms and healing progress.
