Answers to Common Queries

How to Use

Dosage: As directed by your physician (usually one tablet 2–3 times a day).
Administration: Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew.
Timing: Always take MEFLIX PLUS after a meal or with food to protect your stomach lining from irritation.

How it Works

Mefenamic Acid:It works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase (COX), which reduces the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are the primary chemicals responsible for pain, swelling, and particularly the uterine contractions felt during periods.
Paracetamol:It acts as a central analgesic and antipyretic. It raises the body’s overall pain threshold and acts on the hypothalamus to reduce fever.

Safety Advice

Asthma: Use with caution if you have a history of asthma or aspirin-sensitive respiratory disease.
Stomach Health: Avoid use if you have active stomach ulcers or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Alcohol: Avoid alcohol as it increases the risk of stomach irritation and liver toxicity.
Pregnancy: Consult a doctor. It is generally not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy

What if You Forget?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take two tablets at once to compensate for a missed dose.

Is MEFLIX PLUS better than regular Paracetamol for period cramps?

Yes. While Paracetamol helps with pain, Mefenamic Acid specifically targets the prostaglandins that cause uterine contractions, providing more effective relief for menstrual distress.

Can I take this on an empty stomach?

No. To prevent gastric upset and acidity, it is highly recommended to take this tablet after a meal.

How long can I take MEFLIX PLUS?

It should typically be used for no more than 7 consecutive days unless otherwise specified by your doctor.
