Answers to Common Queries

How to Use

Dosage:As prescribed by your healthcare provider.
Administration:Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
Timing:For maximum absorption, take CALPODD 200 with food. This also helps reduce the risk of stomach upset.

How it Works

Cefpodoxime in CALPODD 200 works by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It binds to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins) inside the bacterial cell, preventing the bacteria from forming the protective wall they need to survive. Without this wall, the bacterial cell ruptures and dies.

Safety Advice

Full Course:Always complete the entire course prescribed by your doctor, even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
Allergies:Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Penicillin or other Cephalosporins.
Kidney Health:Dose adjustments may be necessary for patients with severe kidney impairment.
Pregnancy/Nursing: Consult your physician; it is generally used only if clearly needed.

What if You Forget?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take a double dose to catch up, as this increases the risk of side effects.

Is CALPODD 200 effective against the common cold or flu?

No. CALPODD 200 is an antibiotic and only works against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral infections like the cold or flu.

Can I stop taking the medicine once I feel better?

No. Stopping early can allow the remaining bacteria to multiply and develop resistance, making the infection harder to treat in the future.

Does CALPODD 200 cause drowsiness?

No, it does not typically affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
